OUR IMPACTFUL MISSION
Our Mission is to support marginalized communities in pathways to safe and holistic passages of freedom and to undermine and terminate systemic social-emotional systems of oppression, repression, and shame.
I guess you could say the Institute of Emotional Literacy (IEL) began its formulation in the ’90s, the height of Hip-Hop; the World Wide Web is introduced; Rwandan genocide; Bill Clinton’s presidency; the LA riots, soothing sensations of R&B music; the collapse of the USSR, Mandela becomes president; Dr. Dre’s Chronic album is released; Toni Morrison wins a Nobel Peace Prize; they said it was “Black on Black” crime; viagra hits the market, and It took forever for God to give me enough boobs to fit into a bra! Life is more than an amalgamated existence. At this time I didn’t realize maps were being formed in every step I took. Pathways were being calculated. There was clearly a divine predestination for me to arrive at the Institute of Emotional Literacy. While we are all on life journey’s we are usually more intentional about social and financial destinations rather than our emotional, sexual and spiritual terminals. We have all been intentionally miseducated about our humanity, sexuality, and spirituality.
None of us are born free of these indoctrinations. Our freedom from these social-emotional imprisonments is our priority and passion. It is our calling. Here at the Institute of Emotional Literacy to help you find doors to emotional comprehension, sexual freedom and spiritual abundance. These are the portals to restoring our humanity and in this, we find ourselves.
IEL is a restoration center, education platform, and decolonizing ecosystem for self-radical evolutions and abolitionism.
