Domestic Violence, Human Trafficking and Humanity

The discussion around Domestic Violence, Human Trafficking and Humanity at large remain complex albeit experienced by so many people. As having worked with both Domestic Violence and Human Trafficking Survivors and Being a Black Woman in America, I’m hoping to draw some parallels. I’m hoping I will encourage empathy and understanding. The goal is to delete some of the cognitive dissonance I see so many experiencing. We seperate ourselves from people we call vuctims because we do not want to accept that we are all victims of violence. I hope this deck helps people understand just how evasive and normalized domestic violence, intimate partner violence,  human trafficking and psychological abuse really is. I’m hoping people will learn that we’ve all grown accustomed to abuse. We have to start asking better questions, and “Why didn’t you leave?” Isn’t one of them.
